It’s been a busy and productive month for the Museum of Philately with the addition of five new Collections, and over twenty new Rarities uploaded, and several exciting website developments including a brand new “Experts” section and a dedicated Blog.
The coming weeks also promises to be even more active because the Museum of Philately will be participating in Virtual Stampex this week, 25th to 27th March 2021, where they will be holding a set of Interactive Experiences at the three day event from their booth in the exhibits hall, these include museum tours and talks. And as announced last month the Museum of Philately will be sending out a dedicated regular Newsletter, starting in April, which you can sign-up for here. New Collections
The Museum of Philately is proud to announce that the following collections have been added to the Museum:-
- Joseph D. Hackmey’s outstanding collection of Cérès The First issue of France and its Postal Usages 1849.
- G. B. Horton’s comprehensive collection of the Essays and Proofs of King Edward VII 1901 to 1911.
- Samir Amin Fikry’s comprehensive study Egypt: The Postal Service in the Suez Canal Zone 1838 to 1880.
- Antonello Fumu’s award winning exhibit Transatlantic Mail Routes to and from Americas 1850 to 1878.
- Max Plantinga’s important collection on the Turkey Duloz Issues 1865 to 1887.

Experts section
The ‘Experts’ section has been added to the menu bar within the website to provide a dedicated space for expertising bodies and individuals, past and present, to be detailed and associated with any certificates they have issued on any rarities which appear in the Museum. This is still a work in progress but currently 16 experts have been added and more will follow in the coming months. Contact us if you are an expert body that would like to be added to the system.
